Breakfast was A+ to fuel our busy days exploring and we were close enough to walk to all the action in Parque Principal but far enough from any late night noise. @eldespertarjerico

Need a Copy of Your Consulate-Registered Marriage or Birth Certificate in Colombia? Here’s How! 🇨🇴💍

* Option 1: Visit Notaría Primera in Bogotá for an in-person request. * Option 2: Request it by email—quick and easy!

✨ Why You Might Need It:
* Applying for a cónyuge visa? You’ll need a recently issued copy of your registro civil de matrimonio.
* Traveling with a minor and without the other parent? You’ll need a recently notarized copy of the registro civil de nacimento for the child for your “permiso para viajar.”

💡Tip: In Colombia, the notary you register at is the only one where you can get copies, so choose wisely!

For context, both my marriage and my oldest’s birth certificate, who was born in the U.S.A., were registered at the Colombian consulate in San Francisco — which means I can only get notarized copies at the Notaría Primera in Bogotá. We’ve applied for my partner’s marriage visa twice and I’ve had to request the travel permission once with each of my 3 children.
