Holis! I’m alive! 🙋🏽‍♀️ A little photo dump of what I’ve been up to since I went quiet.

When I show up here, I want it to be intentional. Not for the algorithm. For me and getting to genuinely engage with you. And I know todos los padres will get this, but at the end of the day my priorities are me and my family.

So! Once I started feeling like myself again after a work trip and being super sick.... por fin got earthquake relief resources out to families who needed them, took real time for me, and chores like finally cleaning the Dyson that had been judging me for months. I’m also on a 6-week workout streak! I don’t mind having the kids around and feel like it’s a great reminder that they understand it’s not “ugh I have to work out,” it’s “yaaas I GET to work out.”

Rewatched the OG Practical Magic with girlfriends (first time for a few!) then took myself on a date to see it alone.

Hosted another craft night and remembered how meditative needlepoint is. Hubs and I picked salsa back up after months of being on the back burner. Lots of slow time with the kids, including an at-home girls’ night with my oldest.

All that to say, los extrañé un montón, and I’ll be back to my regular posts soon.

If nothing else: no one gives you permission to take the time you need but you. So hágale, take it. The internet isn’t going anywhere. ♥️

This is the third culture kid parent tax nobody tells you about: juggling two calendars that never quite line up, then scrambling to feed and entertain a kid on a “holiday” while you’re still on back-to-back calls.

I put every Colombian festivo and US holiday in one place, Aug 2026 through June 2027, Calendario B, day of the week included so at least the surprise part is gone. The scramble might still happen. But you’ll see it coming.

Día de la Antioqueñidad is officially August 11, but calendario B schools usually celebrate a bit later. Just after when everyone’s back from break.💚🤍

💡Bonus history nugget: Antioquia’s first leader was literally titled “Dictador” in 1813, but to be clear he was elected by the legislature, not a strongman who seized power.
