Whether you’re diving into family admin or tackling work to-dos, I’ve crafted a handy map of some of Medellín’s most recommended coworking spaces and coffee shops. With the growing number of remote workers in Colombia—whether on digital nomad visas, students eager to improve their Spanish, or adventurous families—this map is tailored for:

  • Moms: The endless list of kids’ appointments, extracurriculars, and personal tasks can be overwhelming. Treat yourself to a cozy spot with a cup of tea or coffee, where you can enjoy some peace and fresh air.
  • Digital Nomads: If you’re seeking reliable Wi-Fi and a sense of community while exploring the city, this map is for you!
  • Remote Workers: Need a change of scenery from your home office? Find your ideal workspace here.
  • Entrepreneurs: Discover networking opportunities and professional meeting spaces that can help you grow your business.
  • Students: Look for study-friendly cafés with a warm and inviting atmosphere.

I’ve only visited a few places myself. My mornings are packed with calls, leaving me a small window to work before picking up my oldest from school. This list compiles recommendations I’ve gathered over the past couple of years, and I’m excited to try more as my schedule permits. It’s definitely not complete, and I’m always adding to it! For a breakfast stop, there’s also my Medellín brunch and café map.

Four Places to Start

If you have a couple of hours between errands and school pickup, start with the location that fits your day. These four options range from shared mall work areas to dedicated coworking. The map below has more ideas; this shortlist gives you the practical details without opening every pin.

Shortlist details checked October 19, 2026. Confirm availability and current prices with the operators before heading over.

Nómadas at El Tesoro — shared work areas in El Poblado

Where: El Tesoro Parque Comercial, Carrera 25A #1A Sur–45. Nómadas has three areas: Puente Oriente and Pasillo Norte on level 2, and Plaza Teatro on level 1. The mall lists dedicated Wi-Fi, electrical connections and work tables. This is a shared space for a little admin or study time; its rules ask visitors to speak quietly and use headphones, so plan private calls elsewhere.

Access: Connect through the Nómadas El Tesoro Wi-Fi registration screen. The service page does not publish a desk fee or reservation process; ask the mall about availability or charges if those affect your plans. See Nómadas locations and access details.

Mundo Creativo at Santafé — paid desks and cabins in El Poblado

Where: Centro Comercial Santafé, Carrera 43A #7 Sur–170, floor 1 between the Balsos and Aguacatala sectors. This is a paid coworking service inside the mall, with shared workstations, locker options, dedicated Wi-Fi and private cabins for one or two people. Choose it when you want a defined work session alongside mall errands; ask the host which cabin suits your calls before reserving.

Booking and cost: Reserve with the host on site or through the Santafé app, subject to availability. Rates vary by workstation and time package. Use the operator’s current tariff rather than assuming that general mall Wi-Fi includes a coworking seat. See Mundo Creativo spaces, rates and booking instructions.

Semilla Café Coworking — a café downstairs, a workspace upstairs in Laureles

Where: Calle 39C #73–7, by Primer Parque de Laureles. Semilla separates its first-floor café from its second-floor coworking area. The coworking service lists desks, call booths and meeting rooms, making it an option to compare when you need more than a café table.

Booking and cost: Its published individual-desk rate is COP $45,000 per day, including IVA, with weekly and monthly options. The site says you can pay on arrival; contact Semilla first if a call booth or meeting room is essential, and confirm any separate room charge. See Semilla’s coworking facilities and prices.

WeWork Astorga — dedicated coworking in El Poblado

Where: Calle 7D #43A–40, Astorga, El Poblado. The location lists coworking memberships, private offices, meeting rooms and phone booths for short calls. It is an option to compare for an ongoing work routine or meetings rather than a café stop.

Booking and cost: Contact the location through its website to discuss access or arrange a tour. Ask which membership covers this building, how desk and room reservations work, and the total including taxes and fees; don’t assume a walk-in day pass is available. See WeWork Astorga’s workspace options.

Bonus Tips

  • Peak Times: Expect some cafés and coworking spaces to get busy during peak hours (10 AM – 2 PM). Plan accordingly!
  • Cultural Etiquette: Tipping is appreciated —usually around 10%. In touristy areas, servers may ask if you’d like to include gratuity: “¿Te gustaría incluir el servicio?”
  • Booking Requirements: Many coworking spaces require advance booking. WhatsApp is life – check their website or instagram to contact them directly.
  • Special Discounts: Keep an eye out for promotions on monthly coworking passes or loyalty programs.
  • Noise Levels: For a call-heavy day, ask about phone booths or bookable meeting rooms. A shared coworking desk does not automatically give you a private place to talk.
  • Mall Culture in Colombia: Mall errands and a little work time can fit into the same outing. Compare El Tesoro’s shared Nómadas areas with Santafé’s paid Mundo Creativo desks and cabins in the shortlist above.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do coworking spaces cost in Medellín?

Compare the actual space and time you need rather than relying on one citywide price range. Semilla publishes a COP $45,000 individual-desk day rate including IVA; Santafé offers hourly workstation and cabin packages; and WeWork lists monthly membership options. Check the linked operators’ pages above for current rates and ask whether meeting rooms, parking and taxes are included.

Which neighborhood in Medellín is best for coworking?

The three main hubs are El Poblado (Provenza/Manila area), Laureles, and Envigado. El Poblado has the highest concentration of coworking spaces and the largest international community BUT it’s pricier and hilly. Laureles is flatter, more residential, and often more affordable with an equally strong café-coworking scene. Envigado offers a quieter, more local vibe with fewer but solid options. Your best pick depends on where you’re living and whether you prioritize networking or deep-focus work.

Can I work from cafés in Medellín or do I need a dedicated coworking space?

Check with the specific café branch before settling in: laptop areas, time limits, outlets and call policies can vary. A café purchase does not necessarily include access to a dedicated workspace—Semilla, for example, has a café downstairs and a separate coworking area upstairs. If calls are central to your day, ask about a phone booth or bookable room instead of relying on a shared café table.

Is the Wi-Fi in Medellín fast enough for remote work?

It depends on the venue and the connection available to your seat. El Tesoro and Santafé advertise dedicated Wi-Fi for their workspaces, but that does not guarantee an uninterrupted call. Ask the operator about the connection, backup arrangements and call facilities if your work depends on them.

Do I need to book coworking spaces in Medellín in advance?

It depends on the space. Many accept walk-ins for day passes, but some of the more popular spots (especially private offices and meeting rooms) require advance booking. WhatsApp is the primary communication channel. Check the space’s Instagram or website for their number and reach out directly. During peak season (roughly December–March), it’s a good idea to book ahead, especially for monthly memberships.
